Primavera Residences Ends July with a Successful Wellness Day

 wellness1

Primavera Residences hosted a three-part wellness activity for the health conscious and fitness enthusiasts in the city last Saturday, July 26. Primavera Wellness Day is part of a series of activities at Primavera Residences celebrating Nutrition Month.

At 2 P.M., the Culinary Institute of Cagayan de Oro (CIC), the first culinary school in Northern Mindanao offering programs such as Culinary Arts with Holistic Nutrition and specialized courses like Certificate in Catering and Restaurant Operations, conducted a free healthy cooking demo with three hale and hearty recipes—Coleslaw, Granola Bars and Pepperoni Bruschetta.

 wellness11

Aside from that, Chef Ivy Trapero and her student JP Tan of CIC shared their experiences in eating not only healthy food but having a healthy lifestyle. “We only live once; why not make the most out of it by enjoying your food without feeling guilty?” Tan asked.

wellness7

More so, attendees became more conscious and were eager to find out what went wrong after getting evaluated on their wellness levels. It was indeed a day full of knowledge and motivation.

At 3 P.M., Coach Noel Villa, the founder of CDO Rugby Club, demonstrated different exercises you can do at home. He further explained how to train smart through the Dynamic Training Approach, a specialized training approach that focuses on body sculpting, strength training, and sports conditioning. It is ideal for both men and women who want to get in shape, stay in shape and carry on a healthy lifestyle. D.T.A. is not a quick fix, it’s a lifestyle.

Primavera Wellness Day didn’t just end with knowing your wellness status and how to be fit through D.T.A. but it ended with a deeper sense of peace and contentment, with a yoga party. Julie Bonita Corrales, a US-trained yoga instructor, had a great time with Primavera Residences’ clients and partners as they connect with the universe through yoga.

Also present during the event were representatives from Pascual Laboratories who gave away free samples of their fitness product C-lium and Calchews.

“If all people practice yoga, I believe that we can have the possibility to reduce suffering in the universe,” says the beautiful and fit yogi, Julie.

Julie Bonita Corrales, an American Yoga Alliance – certified yoga instructor from the island of Camiguin, has found contentment, inner peace, and a way to live healthy through yoga.

Julie finds herself grateful to have studied and completed yoga  training from one of the best yoga schools in the United States. She completed her 200-hour RYT certification in New York Yoga at the heart of Upper East Side in Manhattan, New York City.  New York Yoga equipped her with the kind of proficiency that brought not only physical fitness, but a deeper sense of peace and contentment in her life as well. This is the kind of instruction and inspiration that she now brings back to her hometown of Camiguin and to the rest of Northern Mindanao.

The YOGAHOME, her yoga studio in Camiguin which she founded with a yogi partner, is the best venue to change your lifestyle and find peace and relaxation in one of the most beautiful islands in the Philippines. She teaches fun and challenging asanas, incorporating yoga philosophy, meditation, and well though-out sequences in her classes. Breathing within that space and finding meaning to every pose, she encourages her students by repeatedly emphasizing the need to revisit our intentions for doing yoga.

“Yoga has changed my life, and I want to share my fascination of the uniquely meditative effects of yoga to motivate and inspire others,” says Julie.

Watch the World Cup at Primavera Residences

Every 4 years, the world turns its eyes on the 32 teams that will be vying for the World Cup. The stage has been set in Brazil, the country with the most wins in the tournament. With that, they are burdened with the greatest of expectations.

But then again, Spain who won it 4 years ago will not give it up without a fight. The cup, the honor, the glory and the pride is up for grabs, with dark horses and strong teams like Italy, Portugal, Germany, Japan and France looming in and doing their best to run away with the win.

Superstars in this generation will be giving their all in the group stages as they progress to the sweet 16. Big names like Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Neymar Jr.,  Mesut Ozil, Andres Iniesta, Mario Balotelli, and Kisuke Honda will leave it all on the pitch as they will definitely try to outshine each other in their journey for the world cup.

This is the beauty of football, where anyone can be the hero at the last minute of the game. A game of two halves, 45 minutes each, and where a single miss or mistake can spell elimination and embarrassment to the team and to the nation they represent. The whole world will be watching and this is the beautiful game, this is the road to immortality. This is the FIFA World Cup.

Will you be watching it this year?

If you are, Primavera Residences, the eco-friendly Italian condo in uptown CDO has opened its doors to the football fans in Cagayan de Oro with a FREE screening of the 2014 World Cup.

In partnership with Parasat cable, football fans who register in advance will be given free snacks at the venue. To pre-register, simply visit the official Primavera Residences Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/CondoPrimavera and send a message with your name, the names of the people who will be coming with you, the time and date of the game you wish to see, and the team you will be rooting for.

The Art of Arranging Flowers and Maximizing Space: Creative Workshops at the Prima de Mayo Event

prima de mayo1

On May 24, Primavera Residences, together with Truly Wealthy Realty Corporation, hosted two workshops to highlight the event dubbed “Prima de Mayo”.

These creative workshops covered the art of flower arrangement and interior designing and were conducted by a professionally licensed interior designer Ms. Anna Christina Sagarbarria. Ms. Sagarbarria gained her expertise from The Philippine School of Interior Design, the country’s premier interior design institution.

DSC_6790

I had the chance to witness the flower arrangement workshop, and I really appreciate and admire the way she does her craft. Given the limited timeslot, she was able to manage squeezing in the basic essentials of what we need to learn as flower arranging newbies.

DSC_6799

Set up at the green inner courtyard of Primavera Residences, Ms. Anna showcased her materials consisting of a variety of beautiful flowers, and vases of different shapes and sizes. Her talk started with a discussion of the basic color theory, stressing out that it is important to know the basic colors and its primary combinations.

Then, we learned a few basics in harmonizing colors:

Monochromatic

prima de mayo2

From the term ‘mono’ meaning single, and ‘chromo’ or color, this is the application of a single color type. When it’s yellow, it’s yellow and nothing else.

Analogous

prima de mayo3

This is a combination of two or three colors which are side by side on the color wheel, such as blue-green, yellow-green, yellow-orange. So, on your vase, you can have a single color of flowers of three different hues.

Complementary

A combination of any two colors which are right across each other on the color wheel is complementary. A good example is yellow and blue.

Triadic

According to Ms. Chri, this color harmony can be tricky for flower arrangement. If not carefully chosen and arranged, the result can be a huge cluttered, disheveled look. From the term itself, triadic combination uses any three colors from the color wheel that form a triangle. Blue-purple-red is triadic example.

The choice of vase for your flowers is also an important consideration to make. Yet more importantly, it’s the way you arrange the flowers and the color combination that makes or breaks it. Our adept speaker showed us a single type of flower in monochromatic color placed in both a country or rustic styled vase and a formal vase, and the desired effects were perfectly achieved.

She made sure to emphasize having fun in arranging flowers, just as what we had during the entire one hour workshop.

The second leg of her workshop is about maximizing space, a two-hour crash course in interior designing for small spaces. The audience was all ears, eager to learn really good tips that they can apply in their home and office spaces. Her tips were especially useful to those living in condos such as the multi-awarded premier condominium building, Primavera Residences.

Watch out for more fun workshops coming soon in Primavera Residences!
