Primavera’s La Rondine Hall Open for Public Use

Primavera Residences Condominium Corporation officially opens to the public La Rondine Hall as a new venue in Cagayan de Oro catering to parties, events, training and learning sessions, among others. La Rondine Hall is also a venue for art appreciation, providing an avenue for local artists to showcase their art works.

Formerly Primavera’s multi-purpose hall, La Rondine has been a venue for social gatherings, trainings, seminars and art exhibits. Now that it has opened its doors to the public, more people can experience Primavera as an alternative venue in uptown Cagayan de Oro.

“La Rondine which is Italian for Barn Swallow is a bird that returns to Italy during spring season, or Primavera. It is mainly for this reason that we opted to use the name,” ITPI CEO and Arch. Romolo Nati explained.

La Rondine is a migrant bird that is known to gracefully dart over fields and open water. With its shiny cobalt blue top mixed with tawny feathers underneath, this agile flier comes back to Italy at Primavera, when the countryside is brimming with colors and nature is at its best.

Provided with a 90 sq. m. floor area and decorated with a variety of artworks (for display and for sale), La Rondine Hall is suited for versatile events such as birthday parties, learning sessions, yoga parties to mention some.

2 Italian Films to be Screened in 2014 Cine Europa Cagayan de Oro

It’s the time of the year once again when Kagay-anons are treated to a festival of European Films. This November 13 – 16, 2014, visit Rodelsa Hall, Liceo de Cagayan University for a free viewing of 21 films from 16 participating European countries.

Cine Europa 2014 is the sixth time since 2009 that the Delegation of the European Union to the Philippines is hosting the film fest in Cagayan de Oro. Among the notable films in this year’s line up are the two movies from Italy, namely Una Sconfinata Giovinezza (A Second Childhood) and Scialla (Easy!)

Una Sconfinata Giovinezza or A Second Childhood explores the story of a happily married couple and how things suddenly make a turn for the worst when the husband begins showing signs of Alzheimer’s disease.

Looking for something thought-provoking and heart-wrenching to help you spend your Sunday evening? See this movie with family and friends on Sunday, November 16, from 6pm onwards.

Scialla! or Easy! Is a comedy film about a retired Italian teacher who tutors for a living. His world is turned upside down when he finds out that one of his students, a rebellious teenager, is actually his son. This movie will be shown on Friday, November 14, at 1pm. Before you start to raise your eyebrows, let me give you a quick run down of the attractions, tourist spots, and all the fun things you can do while you’re in CDO.

1. Go on an adventure!

You can’t go to CDO without getting in touch with everything nature has to offer. And when we say you got plenty of exciting adventures to choose from, you really do!

Whether you’re in the mood for some trekking, ziplining, kayaking, river tubing, skimboarding, whitewater rafting, canyoneering, rappelling and all sorts of heart-pumping, breathtaking action, CDO has all that to offer! You can choose to stay within the city for those exhilarating high-adrenaline action (Makahambus Adventure Park, Mapawa Nature Park, Jatico Adventures, Gardens of Malasag) or you can venture into the nearby Dahilayan Adventure Park for even more choices of adventure!

On the Philippine Daily Inquirer: Cagayan de Oro tops list of most competitive cities

Cagayan de Oro City in Misamis Oriental is the most competitive city in the country, according to the 2013 Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index.

Rounding up the top five most competitive cities in the country were Iloilo City; San Fernando, Pampanga; Butuan City, Agusan del Norte, and Bacolod City, Negros Occidental.

The index, which was presented in a regional summit in Makati on Tuesday, also named San Francisco in Agusan del Sur as the most competitive municipality, followed by Guagua in Pampanga; Carmona in Cavite; Daet, Camarines Norte, and General Trias in Cavite.

Guillermo Luz, National Competitiveness Council co-chair for the private sector, explained that the competitiveness of the cities and municipalities was determined based on 30 weighted indicators measuring economic dynamism, government efficiency and infrastructure.

More specifically, these indicators included rankings on governance; power and water rates and connections; number of hotel rooms, cell sites, hospital beds, among others; length of travel to airports and seaports, and the ease of business permits and licensing systems in a particular area. There were 122 cities and 163 first class municipalities included in the report.
