Primavera Invites you to Watch the Higalaay Rugby Challenge Cup

Prepare for an exciting weekend of Rugby Football as the Manila Hapons go head-to-head with our very own Cagayan de Oro Rugby Football Club, the CDO Rafters, during the first ever Higalaay Rugby Challenge this coming Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 1PM.

Rugby football is the fastest-growing sport in the city and in just one year, our local team headed by coach Noel Villa, has already won a championship cup in the national games. As part of the team’s first anniversary celebration, they have invited to Cagayan de Oro the Manila Hapons, one of the strongest teams in Philippine Rugby.

The Manila Hapons is a Manila-based International Touring team who are regulars in national and Asian games. The team is headed by Masayuki Sekiguchi, a member of the national rugby team, the Philippine Volcanoes.

Primavera Residences Launches First Ever ‘Fiesta Sa Primavera’ Grand Bazaar

Last August 16, 2014, Primavera Residences’ ground floor was crowded with revellers of the festival-themed “Fiesta sa Primavera Grand Bazaar” just in time for the Higalaay Festival.

The bazaar ran from 2PM to 9PM and Primavera Residences invited different local goods owners to showcase their products. Though challenged with a sudden downpour during the bazaar festivities, local shoppers and business owners proceeded with business as usual and did not let the heavy rain dampen their spirits.

Among the local businesses present in the bazaar were the following:

Julia’s Closet. Julia’s Closet started as an online shop that caters to what every woman wants: accessories and clothes.
CDO Rugby Football Club. The first and only rugby club in CDO sold football equipments, rugby t-shirts and Higala-ay shirts.
Dire Husi. Dire Husi is a community of self-reliant and socially responsible young people collectively reaching their full potential through social entrepreneurship, arts and music. Their representatives sold intricately designed and handcrafted items such as dream catchers, accessories, wine bottles, and pens to name a few.
Figure It Up sold varied collection of dresses and accessories that would totally suit this generation’s fashion
Anjo’s Diner, where your favorite sandwiches are given a surprising twist and stuffed with generous servings of beef, chicken, ham – or whatever it is you’re craving for.
Gulp Juicery, sold healthy juices and salads aimed at cleansing toxic substances in our body.
Joy’s Boutique Shop, sold designer bags that were a big hit during the bazaar. The bags on display included items from Louis Vuitton, Zara, Gucci, Guess, Michael Kors, among others.

Other independent sellers displayed various dry goods and food items. Smart Communications was also present during the bazaar to display their products and services.

The Fiesta sa Primavera Grand Bazaar was the best way to create camaraderie between the unit owners and the neighboring areas. Sometimes, all we need is to go the extra mile in reaching out to our community and help exhibit our local entrepreneurs.

ITPI sponsors Rotary Club of West CdO’s golf tourney

ITPI Corp. (ItalPinas Euroasian Design and Eco-Development), the company behind Cagayan de Oro’s first eco-friendly mixed-use condo Primavera Residences, is working hard to become a valued member of the Kagay-anon community.

This was why ITPI did its best to support the Rotary Club of West CdO when it held its Oro Golf Tourney from February 7-9 at the Pueblo de Oro Golf & Country Club in Cagayan de Oro City.

The tournament, which brought together entrepreneurs belonging to the Rotary Club of West CdO, was meant both as a bonding and fund-raising activity.

According to the tournament director, Clifford Roa, proceeds of the event are expected to fund several projects of the Rotary Club chapter.

“Apart from funding our (the IBP chapter’s) scheduled projects, a certain amount will also be set aside to be donated to victims of typhoon Yolanda,” Clifford Roa, who is also the president of the Capitol University Alumni Association, said.

Winners of the tourney bounded away with huge prizes, including a Ford Fiesta, a Panasonic refrigerator, Sharp flat screen TVs, an LG washing machine, and even an overnight stay at the Italian elegant Primavera Residences, the first eco-friendly condominium development in the city of Golden Friendship.

Uptown living now a rising lifestyle in CDO

When Cagayan de Oro was granted a city status more than half a century ago, it probably was not envisioned to be the busy hub it is now. Although still a city that sleeps at night, it becomes uproarious when it wakes. Rush hours could find you finishing an entire section of candy crush stuck in traffic. And the heat and dust could leave you weary after walking only a block in the city center. And when the rains come, the drainage can sometimes be a problem.

But, not to be discouraged by these things, we have built ourselves a nice and comfy hub away from the hub – if I can put it that way. Uptown living – that is, geographically the high places, and now even socially speaking, in Cagayan de Oro – is now a rising lifestyle. Let me give a short rundown of what this Uptown Cagayan de Oro City is all about.

Where to stay in CDO

Although most of the hotels, inns and resorts are in downtown Cagayan de Oro, two of the most luxurious hotels are in the upper part of the city. One is Hotel Koresco which is located within the Pueblo de Oro Golf Estates, and the other is Pryce Plaza Hotel, located in Upper Carmen, majestically overlooking the entire city. Guests staying a week to a month can now opt to stay at Primavera Residences which offers condotel services.

Where to shop in CDO

While Centrio, a new addition to the Ayala Malls nationwide, is the busiest place for shopping and a favorite hangout among the youngsters, if you want a laid-back browsing, SM City, which started to lull when the airport was transferred to the town of Laguindingan, is a good alternative. Also in the vicinity are the two restaurants at the Primavera Residences – Jeannette’s Pizza, Pasta and More, serving their unique home cooking styled pizza, and Barkadahan Grill, another homegrown restaurant famous for its pork belly.

To top it off, white water rafting, among the top CDO attractions, usually starts in Barangay Dansolihon, further on from the old Lumbia airport.

For sure, in time, the residences that are being built in this area would be of great value. They have already increased in value after the geo-hazards map had been released by the MGB who assessed the city in view of the climate change. I just hope they have a better foresight than the planning – if there had ever been – in downtown Cagayan de Oro so the future would not see congestion and confusion again.
