This is what makes Primavera the best place to spend each day with your partner. Primavera Residences provide couples with a cozy and comfortable space to enjoy each other’s company in an incredibly convenient location so that newlyweds wake up and greet the new working day with a pleasant smile, not having to worry about being too far from the work place, and not being near enough to hear the loud cars drive by.

2. The green and lush garden of Primavera located at the 3rd floor, and the pool just a few steps away are tranquil venues for men and women to find their inner peace– nothing’s better than doing yoga poolside or hitting the gym while waiting for the husband to get home from work!

Primavera Residences Invites you to Join Earth Hour 2014

On the last Saturday of March every year, 7,000 cities and 152 countries switch off their lights for one hour in the biggest movement for the planet in the entire history of mankind.

We call this Earth Hour and it closely coincides with the equinox to make sure that the earth is blanketed in total darkness. More than just a symbolic action of turning off the lights for one full hour, Earth Hour is a movement that aims to inspire individuals and organizations to take action in helping create a better future for the planet.

Earth Hour started seven years ago and the Philippines has been participating since 2008. In Cagayan de Oro, the first city-wide Earth Hour event was observed in 2009 with spectacular performances followed by the symbolic switching off of lights at Divisoria, Cagayan de Oro City.

How can you participate this year?

There are different ways to participate, but first and foremost is to switch off the lights in your home and office from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm on Saturday, March 29.

Here are other ways to support Earth Hour.

  1. Spread the word and be an Earth Hour advocate. Tell your friends, family, colleagues, and everyone you know to switch off. You can do this through your social media accounts. In Facebook, there is an app called City Switch Off that you can use to invite your friends.
  2. Join the Earth Hour celebration at SM City CDO. Fanfare, performances, and loads of fun and entertainment await you at SM City Cagayan de Oro. Bring your friends and family and join the countdown to 8:30 PM!

In uptown Cagayan de Oro, Primavera Residences, the multi-awarded green property in Mindanao will take part in Earth Hour 2014. You too can do your share and be a superhero for the planet, just like this year’s Earth Hour ambassador Spider-Man. But remember to do your part and make a difference not only for that one hour, but beyond Earth Hour as well.

Girl Rising: A Movie Review

 GirlRising

Girl Rising: A Movie Review

There is always something about documentaries that really touches me every time I watch them. Probably because it talks about real stories and comments from actual events and people involved.

Watching the documentary ‘Girl Rising’ truly moved me. The film has so much power and determination to change the world by educating girls. It is one of the best documentaries I have seen. And it’s perfect for women’s month celebration. The film doesn’t make you cry, it just makes you realize that a girl has immense power to be an advocate of change through education. An educated girl moves economies, as the movie emphasizes.

I like the way the documentary is presented. It highlights the stories of nine girls from nine different countries, each of them pursuing their dream of getting good education. You can see how they longed to be in school regardless of their situation. No money issues, cultural issues or other potential social problems can prevent them from attending school, and watching them is just so inspiring. And so, after watching it, I got to tell myself that I am just so lucky to be raised by parents who sent me to a good school.

I especially like the choice of narrators: Oscar awardees Cate Blanchett and Meryl Streep, Disney icon Selena Gomez, and popular actress Anne Hathaway, among others. Their voices kept me engaged throughout the entire documentary.

Of all the nine girls’ stories, Wadley’s story was what amused me the most. Born and raised in Haiti, Wadley, about nine years old, was exposed too early in life to tragic circumstance when a high-magnitude earthquake badly hit Haiti. She had fun in school until an unfortunate event caused her to stop her education. Wadley’s mom can no longer afford to send her to a makeshift learning center but that didn’t stop her from attending the class, despite being shooed away by the teacher for not paying school tuition. The cutest part was being insistent in staying, almost to the point of arguing with her teacher, until she won. Now that’s a brave little girl!

Girl Rising is more like a movement than just simply telling stories of girls and their determination towards good education. It is a campaign to encourage girls all over the world to become empowered through education in order to help make a good change in their societies.

Cocktail parties and gatherings are so much more fun when held at Primavera Residences! Find out more details by clicking here.
