Primavera Joins CDO Rugby’s 1st Anniv Celebration

Primavera Residences’ partner sports team, the Cagayan de Oro Rugby Football Club, has launched a series of events this September to celebrate their first anniversary. The first activity in the line up is aimed at giving back to the community with a fun party organized for the children of BoysTown. BoysTown in Lumbia, Cagayan de Oro houses young males which include orphans, street children, abandoned children, and other less fortunate young boys.

The half-day event catered to 25 children aged 5 to 17 and includes a wide array of activities such as a rugby sports therapy, games, a Jollibee-hosted party, and gift-giving from various sponsors. It was held on September 13, Saturday, from 8am to 12 noon at Primavera Residences Multipurpose Hall.

The CDO Rugby Club has chosen Boystown as the recipient for some of its community outreach projects since young boys are vulnerable to illegal drugs and other dangers,” says Mae Dizon, one of the event organizers. “This is the fourth time that CDO Rugby Club hosted an event for the BoysTown kids, but to make this one special, we opted to have the event outside their facility.”

Various sponsors presented donations to the children including dental and hygiene kits from Primavera Residences. Italpinas CEO Architect Romolo Nati was also present during the event to join the fun and games. Volunteer group Child Protection Brigade headed by founder Renato “Rhaine” Pepito is among the partners of this worthwhile activity.

Getting to know Miss Primavera 2014 Novanmae Marcojos

IMG_1477

Two weeks after the Miss Cagayan de Oro 2014 coronation night and after all the pageant frenzy has finally started to settle down, the newly hailed Miss Primavera dropped by at the multi-awarded eco-friendly property for a meet-and-greet with her new Italpinas family. Novanmae Marcojos arrived at the Primavera Sales Office, sans make up, but looking as bright and pretty as ever.

Novan is currently a BS Development Communication student with a major in Educational Communication which focuses in equipping students with the expertise in audio-visual communication. As a photography enthusiast, she fits perfectly in her chosen path of education. Her creativity brings out her desire to uncover the beauties around her while her bubbly personality and artistry makes her stand out among the rest.

Being a DevCom student at Xavier University, Novan enjoys helping the less fortunate communities that inspired her to pursue her goal to someday be someone who can be the voice of the voiceless. She wants to be an image of hope, love and inspiration. She loves the idea of adventure that it brings her to live every moment of every day. Resolute and always up for a challenge, she loves the opportunities in every challenge she encounters.

Miss Cagayan de Oro 2014 journey

“I always embrace the existence of challenges; it is where I can truly enjoy life and make the most out of it. Though a first-timer in this path, I know I can get through it,” Marcojos expressed.

She considers her experience in the Miss Cagayan de Oro pageant as one of the most difficult and challenging experiences she ever had in all her 21 years.

“Many people could not help but question my participation in this year’s Miss CDO. Yes, it’s my first time to join any pageant and I felt a bit overwhelmed from the experience. Getting injured during the pageant was the most excruciating challenge I ever had to face,” she added.

Novanmae was injured from a cheer dance rehearsal which resulted to a lengthy hospitalization that involves surgery in her right arm.

“I never allowed that obstacle to become a hindrance in this once in a lifetime experience. Though I wasn’t able to attend to some exposures yet I made it a point that I will be able to regain my strength and still move forward despite the situation. In the end, that’s what every Kagay-anon is known for, to be resilient to every storm that may come our way,” she clarified.

What’s next for Novan?

She is happy to embrace the changes that happened in her life. Moreover, she learned to set priorities and become a better version of herself.

Novan has a way of inspiring herself to be optimistic with whatever she faces. “Everything has its own timing and purpose. Treasuring every moment and making the most out of these adventures help me boost my confidence,” she said.

After the pageant, she will continue her studies at the university as she continues to pursue her learning and passion to be a role model for development of our community.

“Being Miss Primavera gives me the chance to pursue one of my advocacies—to promote cleanliness and proper segregation of wastes. To help create a clean and green environment,” she expressed.

Novan will be present in Primavera Residences’ major events as well as to help promote the advocacy the green developer is proud of and known for.

Primavera Residences Launches First Ever ‘Fiesta Sa Primavera’ Grand Bazaar

bazaar1

Last August 16, 2014, Primavera Residences’ ground floor was crowded with revellers of the festival-themed “Fiesta sa Primavera Grand Bazaar” just in time for the Higalaay Festival.

The bazaar ran from 2PM to 9PM and Primavera Residences invited different local goods owners to showcase their products. Though challenged with a sudden downpour during the bazaar festivities, local shoppers and business owners proceeded with business as usual and did not let the heavy rain dampen their spirits.

Among the local businesses present in the bazaar were the following:

  1. Julia’s Closet. Julia’s Closet started as an online shop that caters to what every woman wants: accessories and clothes.
  2. CDO Rugby Football Club. The first and only rugby club in CDO sold football equipments, rugby t-shirts and Higala-ay shirts.
  3. Dire Husi. Dire Husi is a community of self-reliant and socially responsible young people collectively reaching their full potential through social entrepreneurship, arts and music. Their representatives sold intricately designed and handcrafted items such as dream catchers, accessories,  wine bottles, and pens to name a few.
  4. Figure It Up sold varied collection of dresses and accessories that would totally suit this generation’s fashion
  5. Anjo’s Diner, where your favorite sandwiches are given a surprising twist and stuffed with generous servings of beef, chicken, ham – or whatever it is you’re craving for.
  6. Gulp Juicery, sold healthy juices and salads aimed at cleansing toxic substances in our body.
  7. Joy’s Boutique Shop, sold designer bags that were a big hit during the bazaar. The bags on display included items from Louis Vuitton, Zara, Gucci, Guess, Michael Kors, among others.

Other independent sellers displayed various dry goods and food items. Smart Communications was also present during the bazaar to display their products and services.

The Fiesta sa Primavera Grand Bazaar was the best way to create camaraderie between the unit owners and the neighboring areas. Sometimes, all we need is to go the extra mile in reaching out to our community and help exhibit our local entrepreneurs.

Colors that Define You and Your Home

COLOR1

Building a home is not just perfecting the foundations, locating it in wondrous views and investing digits to fulfill an ideal house for your family. More to that is experimenting and decorating your home to be a relaxing and comfortable place for you after a long and challenging day.

Primavera Residences, the first eco-friendly condo complex in Cagayan de Oro, recently hosted a free interior design workshop with the theme Color Basics: Choosing the Right Colors for your Home at its function hall. The workshop – in partnership with Truly Wealthy Realty Corporation, one of Cagayan de Oro’s property brokers and Primavera Residences’ top performing realty broker in 2013 – was conducted by one of Cagayan de Oro’s darlings in making homes your favorite comfort zones, Anna Christina Sagarbarria, fpid.

Sagarbarria is a licensed interior designer specializing in renovations and home-makeovers and designing for retail and commercial spaces in Cagayan de Oro and Manila. During the workshop, participants learned the basics of choosing the right colors for their home and what their favorite colors say about them.

Have you ever wondered why you are easily attracted to red signage of restaurants and food chains? It is because our body reacts immediately to the power and strength of the color red. Sagarbarria explained that we get an instant physiological response from the color red that catches our attention and makes us pause for a moment. Red is the color to target your consumers. For babies who are less active, paint his/her room red and trust that within a day or two, you’ll be busy panting and running after them because after black and white, red is attractive to them. For homey accents in your house, just add a bit of red to make it more appealing to the eyes. Red screams. Red is not the color for rest. It is a color for activity. People who like red are self-confident, unafraid to take risks, extroverted, has a strong sex drive, competitive and impulsive.

Add white to your red and it will soften your eyes with the calmness and cheerfulness of the color pink. The same with red, it elevates your heart rate and blood pressure but in a much lesser sense. According to Sagarbarria, when putting accents in your home, pink is best partnered with blue and other warm colors. It is a matter of balance. People who like pink are charming, refined and lady-like. They are less showy than the reds.

“Yellow signifies energy and light. Associated with comedy, hope and happiness, yellow lightens up your homey experience. It gives you time to relax and enjoy your day,” said Sagarbarria. “Most people who like yellow are more likely to be considered as imaginative, original, idealistic, creative, often spiritual and usually intuitive,” she added.

Orange is radiant and hot. It is the hottest of all colors even more than red. It signifies heat, sunset and fire. A home with orange accents is more likely to be bright and energetic. It brings more life to furniture and spaces in your home. People who like orange are more likely to be connected with being adventurous, enthusiastic, and agreeable. They are likely to work and play hard.

Blue on the other hand, is associated with being constant and eternal. Scientifically speaking, the color blue makes you calmer and feel better.

“When you want to rest, surround yourself with blue and avoid warm colors. For those who have babies, color their room with blue to help them sleep better and wake up at the right time,” advised Sagarbarria. People who enjoy the calmness of blue are trusting, cool, confident, sensitive to the needs of others, can easily form attachments, perseverant and peaceful, conservative, even-tempered, and reliable.

Green signifies the love of nature. It brings freshness and stillness. Green is best described as ‘the great harmonizer,’ the color of balance and harmony. According to Sagarbarria, green is best for the kitchen as it gives more patience to the cook that brings out the best in his/her dish. People who love green are stable, fastidious, kind, generous, model citizen, caring companion, loyal friend, faithful and a lover.

The most enigmatic and mysterious of all color that signifies passion and magic is purple. It is both the excitement of red and tranquility of blue. Aside from being a color of the royalty, it is also the color of artists, eccentrics, designers, performers and conformists. Purple makes children jolly. Light purple is also great for the dining room. People who love purple have the aura of mystery and intrigue. They are enigmatic, creative, charming, keenly observant and supersensitive.

Black is either sophisticated or rebellious. Defining its radiance and sophistication, it is un-ignorable and mysterious.

“When buying furniture in black, make sure to have white or light-colored accents. Black, white and red are popular to combine with,” said Sagarbarria. “People who love black are witty, clever, prestigious, and put very high importance on personal security. Also, they are sexy, dignified and serious yet classy.”

White symbolizes heavenly joy and wholesomeness. Despite being divine, virginal and unsullied, it is not advisable to paint your office or work area in white.

“It is tiring for the eyes,” explained Sagarbarria. “Go with warmer shades to finish your walls to get productivity going. To make it even classier and elegant, add wood tones to make the room warmer.”

People who love white are considered as self-sufficient, uncompromising, and usually immaculate in their clothing and homes.

This second interior design workshop was organized after the successful run of Prima de Mayo at Primavera Residences last May. Prima de Mayo was the first design workshop jointly organized by Primavera Residences and Truly Wealthy Realty Corp. featuring Sagarbarria as resource speaker.
